Schiphol, 11 October 2017 – HMSHost International, the largest hospitality company under one roof in Netherlands, celebrated Monday its 50-year anniversary at Schiphol. Since the official opening of the terminal of Schiphol Airport in 1967 and the signing of the first agreement, HMSHost has grown to become one of the most important employers in the region. Because of the successful cooperation the contract with Schiphol Group is extended in 2012 until 2027.
To celebrate the anniversary, HMSHost invited its main business partners on a flight above the Northern Dutch cities with a Royal DC-3 Dakota from 1944. Dakota's Restaurant & Bar was the setting for an extensive lunch for all employees and for the busy reception for all business relations. In the speeches people looked back on the growth of HMSHost in the past five decades, but it was emphatically looks ahead. The new strategy 'Creating a place to be’ was explained and is visible in the over 100-page anniversary edition of ' 50 years Feeling Good on the Move '.
Walter Seib, CEO of HMSHost International: "With 50 years of experience, passion and skill, we have a solid foundation for our current and future success. All this would not have been possible without the close and long-term cooperation with our clients, business partners, suppliers, brands and the inexhaustible commitment of our employees. We are very proud of the contribution that HMSHost International has made to the growth of Schiphol to one of the world's most beloved airports, and our own growth as a result of this successful cooperation. The thrill of our job is to introduce travelers to ground-breaking, new concepts that they didn’t know they were missing. Schiphol still offers the perfect stage for the core activities of HMSHost International."
